Urban security in Terni. The contribution of the GPG

Abstract

This paper analyzes the role of private security guards (GpG) in urban safety in the city of Terni, based on over 500 patrol reports. The data highlight a predominantly preventive and environmental function of the GpG, with particular attention to peripheral and semi-central areas, thus contributing to territorial monitoring and the perception of safety.
