Beyond the leviathan: Émile Durkheim and the critique of neoliberal soci-ety

Abstract

Through a rereading of Durkheim’s work, Pendenza manages to highlight the most modern aspects of Durkheimian sociological criticism useful for a fruitful critical analysis of the current governance of European society. According to the autor, it is fundamental and necessary to realign the classical canon of Durkheim’s work on alternative interpretations to those that simply see him as a representative and guarantor of the institution against the individual.
