Health and homeless migrants: self-care practices, health determinants, and the holistic healthcare approach

Othering and Belonging. Costruzione e trattamento delle alterità

Abstract

The authors examine the interaction between social determinants of health and urban marginalization, focusing on homeless migrants in the Kalsa district of Palermo. The study highlights how social and cultural factors influence access to healthcare and the well-being of vulnerable populations, exploring dynamics of inclusion and self-care in heterotopic spaces. It proposes advocacy actions to reduce inequalities.
